Benton Park Neighborhood Association - Parks Committee

The Parks Committee oversees the administration of the programs and improvement of facilities in the parks, promotes the use of parks among the residents and advises the BPNA on current and future plans for the parks system.

Our local parks are among our most important community assets. When they work well and look good, they are a delight. When they do not, they can seriously harm their communities.

Art for the Park

We currently have the beautiful Strolling Bridge Gates.  These gates were designed by a local architect; Ray Simon.  The BPNA has plans to get electricity installed under the bridge.  This improvement will allow the back-lighting of the gates and create a sticking visual improvement of the art in the park.

We also have another local iron working artist who wish to produce a arbores in the park.  He has submitted a couple of concept drawings.  The BPNA has submitted pictures of the original arbor for his consideration of replicating them.

The Parks Committee shall: review the maintenance and improvement of parks land, plantings, replacement plantings, trimming of trees and other vegetation, and the protection of vegetation, and landscaping improvements for the beautification of the neighborhood.
