1. Motion for agreed maintenance
rule for English Cave Community Garden Season, 2008.
The group agreed on appropriate wording for a motion to be voted
on: “Once per season, the plot holders will either cut the grass and
weedwhip or perform a suitable equivalent task from a list to be
developed. Plot holders not performing the task will be asked to
make a $35 donation to support these vital maintenance activities.”
The motion was passed at the meeting by 9 votes Yes; Zero votes No;
zero votes Abstaining.
2. 2008 Plot reservation poll.
All current plot holders will be asked by email, phone or
letter, if they wish to have a plot in the 2008 season or if they
wish to be removed from the list of individual plotholders. New
interested plot holders will then be added to the list (space
permitting). When this poll has been completed a new plan for the
2008 garden season will be drawn up to reflect participants’ wishes.
Daven Schansche will be willing to follow up on maintenance
schedules and related activities when the season is underway.
3. Garden banner.
Marian showed the banner output donated through Emir Kalkan from
Craftsman. Their brand new equipment is being tested and calibrated,
the banners were a part of these tests. Craftsman will output
another banner with calibrated color but in the meantime the test
banners can be used by the garden group. Marian will write to thank
Emir for this significant donation.
4. Pig roast and potluck.
Bill reported that he had been tried unsuccessfully to contact
John McKinstry concerning John’s proposed donation of a pig roast to
a garden event. The group thought this would be a great event if the
offer were to be made again by John.
5. Upcoming Twelfth Night event
hosted by Sandy and Bob LaRouche.
Sandy covered the menu to be served and said everyone would be
welcome and part of the festivities would be singing and wassailing
the orchard in the garden.
