Workday Summary and Base Agenda for the March 28th Monthly Meeting
Our volunteers for this sometimes snowy day were: Myself, Bill Kranz,
Marian Amies, Dan Gunther, Chris Rowley, Beth Heine, Daven Schanche,
Bob and Cilia Watson and son, Lisa Watson, Adam, a friend of Lisa’s.
Also Carol Brayton, Ron Turnbough, Sandy and Bob LaRouche stopped by
to say hello and cheer us on. Also neighbor Chandler Loos stopped by
with a tree-cutting proposal for the ice-damaged Mulberry tree and
the excess limbs area.
(Please note that Bill has a competing proposal for the main trunk
of the Mulberry tree from several weeks ago.)
This time a passing cold front cooled off the hardy workers; but we
were buoyed on by hot mushroom soup, cheese, herb and tomato
sandwiches, organic tangerines, coffee and tea drinks as provided by
Host Marian Amies.
Here is a quick summary of our accomplishments:
 |
Daven and Lisa visited Bell
Garden and brought back a gallon bucket of vege and flower
seeds. As you know we’ll soon be working on getting the
vegetable garden aspect tilled and planted over the next few
weeks as needed. |
 |
Adam brought up a almost gallon
sized pouch of native wildflower seeds. He and Lisa led up a
crew that worked on the native plant strip along side Herman’s
house who also volunteered a water hose today. |
 |
Bill and Marian led up a rescue
effort for the Blue Cornflowers scattered about the area. Marian
loves these flowers and has allowed room in her plot to grow
these in peace. |
Our last paragraph concerning work
centered on the personal plot area. Chris, Beth, Bill, Dan and
Marian led an effort and finished laying out the chipped bark access
path and even expanded to (25) a few new plots. A local neighbor
signed out for one along with Michelle Steveno at No 24. These are a
bit smaller but there is one left as of 3-18-07. Anyway at this
point the plots are “Good to Grow” as stated by Daven. Bob and Sandy
LaRouche offered some mesh fabric.
Thanks again for another successful effort. Reminder don’t overdue
your efforts and get burned out – as stated by The Blister Patrol
