Cherokee Center was built in 1967 on the southwest corner of Benton Park. The center has a gymnasium, a boxing and workout room, a crafts room and an indoor swimming pool.
The park features a lake, a playground, two tennis courts and a park shelter.
Children can enjoy crafts and sports such as basketball and boxing.
Adults can join volleyball leagues or enroll in crafts classes like ceramics.
Senior Citizens can stay physically fit by enrolling in water aerobics classes.
Wheelchair Equipped
The Recreation Division may plan special events for groups with specific interests or destinations in mind. To discuss an event or outing for your group, Please contact at 289-5320 and we will determine if we can be of service to you. Also if you would like to be a part of our mailing\call list to be notified of upcoming events, please write or call us. We look forward to serving and hearing from you.
Recreation Division activities are fully or partially funded through HUD and CDA authorized CDBG funds.
