Benton Park Neighborhood Association (BPNA) welcomes music lovers of all ages to its second concert of 2009: Samba in the City. This unique evening event combines the soothing and festive music of Samba Bom with live art performances by Art Dimensions, a children?s paint area, and food from award-winning eateries ? all in the idyllic setting of Benton Park.

Headlining the concert, Samba Bom, which translates to "good samba," is a Saint Louis-based ensemble whose diverse backgrounds join together to celebrate Brazilian rhythms and melodies. Their repertoire includes fresh interpretations of samba classics along with original works, and even twists on American pieces. Samba Bom founder Moacyr Marchini explains, ?Mixing musical cultures only enhances the versatility and likeability of the Brazilian sound.?

For a small donation, guests have opportunity to sample signature dishes from various Benton Park eateries at the concurrently running Taste of Benton Park. All proceeds benefit improvements in this historic park.
